FAQs

About Medical Marijuana Doctors in CT.

Who can prescribe medical marijuana in Connecticut?

Only physicians and/or APRNs who hold a valid Connecticut medical license and are certified by the Board of Physicians may recommend medical marijuana.

We can help you find doctors in CT who prescribe medical marijuana recommendations.

What is the cost of a Connecticut medical marijuana card?

After you receive your certification from one of our Connecticut doctors, you are required to pay a non-refundable $100 state registration fee.

This separate charge is paid directly to the Connecticut state MPP and is paid when the patient sends in their application for their CT medical marijuana card.

How long does it take to get a medical card in CT?

The Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) may take up to 30 days to review and process patient applications. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email from the DCP with your permanent medical marijuana registration certificate. You may print out this certificate or keep a digital copy on your device to use for purchasing medical marijuana from a dispensary.

Does Medicare cover medical marijuana in Connecticut?

No. Medicare won’t pay for medical marijuana or related costs because marijuana is treated as a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law. Unfortunately, there are no health insurance programs that cover expenses for medical marijuana consultations and treatment.
