What are the requirements to get a medical card in Oklahoma?

2
3

Oklahoma does not maintain a fixed list of qualifying medical conditions. Instead, an OMMA-registered physician must determine that the patient has a medical condition likely to receive therapeutic or palliative benefit from medical marijuana.

An adult applicant ordinarily must:

    • Be an Oklahoma resident age 18 or older.
    • Obtain a signed Adult Patient Physician Recommendation Form from an authorized, OMMA-registered physician.
    • Apply within 30 days after the physician signs the form.
    • Provide an acceptable photo, proof of identity, and proof of Oklahoma residency.
    • Pay the applicable OMMA application and processing fees.

Different rules apply to minors, short-term patients, and out-of-state patients.

Can you get a same-day medical marijuana card in Oklahoma?

2
3

No, you can’t get a same-day medical marijuana card in Oklahoma. OMMA does not promise same-day approval. State law gives OMMA up to 14 business days to process a new or renewal patient-license application. After approval, printing the physical card generally takes another 1-2one or two business days before the card is mailed.

A physician recommendation may be provided after your appointment when clinically approved, but the recommendation only allows you to apply. It is not an OMMA license.

Once OMMA approves your application, you do not have to wait for the physical card to arrive before visiting a licensed dispensary. You may present your official OMMA approval email or proof of approved status in OMMA MedPortal together with valid government-issued photo identification. The dispensary will verify your active status through OMMA Verify.

What towns does Quick Med Cards serve in Oklahoma?

2
3

We serve patients across the entire state. The towns we serve include: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Broken Arrow, Edmond, Lawton, Moore, Midwest City, and Stillwater.

Can an out-of-state resident get an Oklahoma medical marijuana card through an Oklahoma physician?

2
3

If you live outside Oklahoma, you must already hold a valid medical marijuana license issued by another state government. You can then apply directly to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) for an out-of-state patient license, valid for up to 30 days.

You do not need an Oklahoma physician’s recommendation for this license. A recommendation or card issued only by a healthcare provider does not replace the required state-issued license.

Can a minor apply for an Oklahoma medical marijuana license?

2
3

Yes. Oklahoma residents under 18 can apply for a minor medical marijuana patient license. Two physicians registered with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) must sign the minor’s recommendation form.

A parent or legal guardian must sign the application. The application must also include proof of identity, proof of Oklahoma residency, and acceptable photos for both the minor and the parent or guardian
