Get Your Georgia Medical Marijuana Card

The doctor’s consultation and certification costs $149, with financing options available for as little as $47. The Georgia Medical Cannabis Registry Card costs $30, plus a $3.75 service fee for online payments.

Currently, we are unable to accept the following payment methods: Flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), health reimbursement arrangements (HRA), limited-purpose flexible spending accounts (LPFSA), or dependent care flexible spending accounts (DCFSA).

You can pay for your medical cannabis card through the Department’s online payment portal. Alternatively, you can mail a $30 money order to:

Your Georgia medical cannabis card is valid for 5 years from the date it is issued. However, you must renew your physician certification every year to maintain your eligibility for medical cannabis.

You can renew your medical marijuana card 30 days before it expires. Schedule an appointment with a physician to renew your certification.

Once the physician completes your certification, they will submit it through Georgia’s Medical Cannabis Patient Registry. The Georgia DPH will review the submission and email you payment instructions to complete your card renewal.

You can book an appointment with one of our doctors in GA to renew your medical marijuana certification. The entire process is online. So, you can complete the process at your own time and convenience.

It can take up to 10 working days to get your medical cannabis card after your payment is processed.

After you’ve signed up and booked your appointment, you will receive an email confirmation from us. Next, on the day of your appointment, we will send you an email and text with a link to your video-call consultation with our physician prior to your appointment time. During the consultation, the physician will review your medical history and current condition to determine whether you meet the requirements for certification.

If the physician certifies you, they will complete your Medical Cannabis Certification and submit your information through Georgia’s Medical Cannabis Patient Registry. You’ll receive your certification soon after the physician approves you for medical cannabis treatment.

You can reach out to our customer support to reschedule your appointment. You won’t be charged a no-show fee if you miss your first consultation. However, a $45 no-show fee applies if you miss the rescheduled appointment.

To qualify for a Georgia medical cannabis card, you must:

• • • Be at least 18 years old.
    • Be a Georgia resident.
    • Have one or more qualifying medical conditions.
    • Be certified by a marijuana doctor.
    • Provide your physician with a valid form of identification and proof of Georgia residency if your ID does not show your current Georgia address.

For patients under 18, a parent, guardian, or legal custodian may register on their behalf. Adults may also register as designated caregivers to assist a qualifying patient with purchasing, possessing, and administering medical cannabis.

Qualifying conditions include:

• • • Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
    • Alzheimer’s disease
    • Autism spectrum disorder, when diagnosed in a patient who is at least 18 years old, or severe autism when diagnosed in a patient under 18
    • Cancer, except skin cancer unless it is metastatic skin cancer
    • Epidermolysis bullosa
    • HIV, when diagnosed as stage III
    • Hospice care enrollment, either inpatient or outpatient
    • Inflammatory bowel disease
    • Intractable pain
    • Lupus
    • Mitochondrial disease
    • Multiple sclerosis
    • Parkinson’s disease
    • Peripheral neuropathy, when symptoms are diagnosed as severe
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), resulting from direct exposure to or witnessing of trauma in a patient who is at least 18 years old
    • Seizure disorders related to epilepsy or trauma-related head injuries
    • Sickle cell disease
    • Tourette’s syndrome

If you meet these requirements and have a qualifying condition, you may be eligible to receive a Georgia medical cannabis card.

Once you get your Georgia Medical Cannabis Registry Card, you can buy medical cannabis from a Georgia-licensed medical cannabis dispensary or an independent pharmacy licensed to dispense medical cannabis.

You can use the Georgia Access to medical cannabis commission's dispensary locator to find a licensed medical cannabis dispensary near you. The Commission updates its list as licensed dispensaries begin operating.
