Illinois medical cannabis card applications can take up to 90 days to process. During this time, eligible applicants can use their provisional registration to purchase medical cannabis. If IDPH has not approved or denied the application within 90 days, an additional provisional registration may be available. This extension is not available if you fail to respond to the state's requests for corrections or additional information.

Illinois offers medical cannabis registry cards valid for 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years. The state application fee depends on your chosen term.
