How do I qualify for a New York medical marijuana card through your website?

You can get your medical marijuana certification from one of our NY cannabis doctors if you meet the following requirements.

  • You are a resident of New York.
  • If you are an adult aged 18 and older, you must have a valid NY driver’s license or a non-driver ID card.
  • If you are a minor (below 18 years old), you must have a caregiver over 21 years old.
  • Finally, our MMJ doctor must believe medical cannabis could benefit your health.

I don't have a New York State driver's license. Can I use other IDs?

Our physicians require your valid New York State driver’s license or a non-driver ID to certify you for medicinal cannabis.

What are the qualifying conditions in New York?

There are no qualifying conditions for medical marijuana in New York. As a result, you can get medical marijuana for any medical condition as long as a NY cannabis doctor deems it clinically appropriate.

What do I do after I receive a certification from my registered practitioner?

You can buy medical marijuana from any dispensary in New York once you receive your certification. Just ensure you also have your government-issued ID with you when you visit the dispensary.

How much medical marijuana can I get at a time?

You can buy up to a 60-day supply of medicinal cannabis. But if your certifying doctor recommends a dosage limit, you can only get as much as they approve.

What if my government-issued photo ID has expired?

Cannabis doctors in New York require patients to provide valid NY driver’s licenses or non-driver IDs for marijuana certification.

What if my address is incorrect on my marijuana certification?

Inform your certifying practitioner of any errors concerning your address. Additionally, you should notify your cannabis doctor of any changes to your name or address within ten (10) business days of the alteration.

Can health insurance cover the cost of the marijuana certification?

No. Health insurance does not cover the cost of marijuana certifications or medical cannabis products. However, getting evaluated and certified for medical marijuana are Medicaid-reimbursable services. As a result, practitioners participating with Medicaid cannot charge you for cannabis certification. How long is my med card valid for?

Your New York marijuana certification will be valid for one (1) year. However, there is no expiration date on MMJ certifications for terminally ill patients.
