Arkansas – Patient FAQ

To qualify for a medical marijuana card in Arkansas, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must be a resident of Arkansas.
• You must have a valid Arkansas driver’s license or state ID. Proof of residency documents are not accepted as a substitute for these forms of identification.
• If you are under 18, your parent, guardian, or legal custodian must consent in writing to your medical use of marijuana and register as your designated caregiver.
• A physician must provide a medical marijuana certification confirming that you have a qualifying medical condition.

Note: Members of the Arkansas National Guard or the United States military cannot register as designated caregivers.

Follow the steps below to get certified for medical marijuana with Quick Med Cards:

2. Book your appointment with one of our Arkansas medical marijuana doctors.
3. Attend your in-person consultation (required for first-time patients).
4. Get your certification after the doctor’s approval.

No. Having one or more qualifying conditions does not guarantee that you will receive an Arkansas medical marijuana certification. A physician must determine whether you qualify for certification based on your medical condition and evaluation.

In Arkansas, first-time medical marijuana certifications must be completed in person with a licensed physician; video calls are not allowed for initial evaluations.

However, if you are renewing an existing certification, you may be eligible to complete your consultation via video call (telehealth).

During the appointment, the doctor will review your condition and determine if you qualify. Once approved, your certification will be sent via email for your state application.

After certification, apply to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) for your medical marijuana registry card. Include your signed physician certification, a copy of your Arkansas driver’s license or state ID, and the application fee.

ADH must receive your application and supporting documents within 30 days of the physician’s signature. Allow up to 14 days for processing. You need a valid registry card before buying medical marijuana from an Arkansas dispensary.

Your medical card will be valid for 1 year.

The doctor consultation costs $149. Our financing option lets you book an appointment for as little as $47, making it easier to manage the cost. The fee includes your consultation with a medical marijuana doctor in Arkansas and your official marijuana certification if you’re approved.

Arkansas also charges a separate, non-refundable $50 patient application fee for both new medical marijuana cards and renewals. This is paid to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Yes. Eligible out-of-state patients can apply for visiting patient registration in Arkansas. You must have a valid medical marijuana card from another state, and your qualifying condition must also be recognized in Arkansas. The state charges a nonrefundable $50 fee. Approved registration lasts 90 days.

Medical records are not listed as a standard requirement for the Arkansas state application. However, the doctor must evaluate your condition before providing certification. Keep relevant medical records available if the doctor requests them.

Arkansas recognizes conditions such as:

• Cancer
• Glaucoma
• Positive status for HIV/AIDS
• Hepatitis C
• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
• Tourette’s syndrome
• Crohn’s disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Severe arthritis
• Fibromyalgia
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Cachexia or wasting syndrome
• Peripheral neuropathy
• Intractable pain, which is pain that has not responded to ordinary medications, treatment, or surgical measures for more than 6 months
• Severe nausea
• Seizures, including those associated with epilepsy
• Severe and persistent muscle spasms, including those associated with multiple sclerosis

A licensed physician must evaluate your condition and provide written certification if you qualify for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Program.

Yes. If our doctor determines that you do not qualify for medical marijuana, you can request a refund of your appointment fee, minus $5 for bank fees. Email staff@quickmedcards.com within 4 months of your appointment date. Refunds do not apply if you miss or cancel your appointment or fail to complete the required state application steps. Yes. If you find a lower price for a comparable consultation, email the webpage link to staff@quickmedcards.com. Our team will review it and, if it qualifies, beat the price by $5.

The Arkansas Department of Health may take up to 14 days to process your complete application and payment. Missing documents or application errors may delay approval. Once approved, you can print your card online.

Yes. You need to pay the appointment fee to reserve your consultation time. The fee covers your appointment and certification, if approved. Any state application fee is separate and must be paid directly to the state.
